1. Kaartijoki – Topenonjoki, Loppi – Janakkala: approx. 30 km long

 

Kaartjoki starts from the southern part of Kaartjärvi and ends above the rapids next to Route 54. Cross the road, and the route continues through Topeno village as Topenonjoki. The river flows past the village of Ourajoki, first descending into Torhojärvi and then via Välijoki into Lairojärvi. There are two rapids after Lairojärvi: Tuomenkoski and immediately afterwards, Kitusaarenkoski.

Before the Juppala road bridge, there is Miiankoski and immediately after the bridge, Kalakoski. After this, the river flows into Lake Paloniitty and then into Lake Korvenalusta. About a kilometer after Korvenalusta lake is Ruinankoski. The route continues through the village of Kaloinen, descending to Haapajärvi in Janakkala. All of these rapids can be navigated with care.
